Wurkin Stiffs magnetic collar stays

Ever since we first saw magnetic collar stays on the MOMA store a couple of years back, we could never decide if this was a brilliant invention or a phenomenally silly one. Now that you can buy Wurkin Stiffs stays on Amazon we decided to try them out, and found the reality to be somewhere between the two. At $20/pair or $35 for a set of three sizes, they're a bit pricey. But they will keep your collar in place, and they make it possible to wear a shirt with a suit in something resembling Tom Ford mode without having your normal-sized collar disappear under the lapels. The magnets aren't going anywhere; they are extremely strong, to the point where if you click two of them together you might have a hard time separating them. On the other hand, you still need to hit your shirt with a bit of starch, so there's no real time savings here. They don't entirely solve the problem. But they really do help.
