Mailbag: Fitz and the Tantrums

BBiohazard writes: "My favorite new song is "MoneyGrabber" by Fitz and the Tantrums and I have been listening to it over and over and over. And I really like it. But do you think the guy is too Mad Men-ish and will you make fun of me for liking it?" Answer: For once the problem has nothing to do with "Mad Men" and everything to do with wearing a light tie with a black shirt, which is incredibly douchey. That said, the song is OK, but we think the white pop take on Stax and Motown soul has already been more than adequately rendered over the last 30 years by the likes of Edwyn Collins and The Style Council.
