The photos at top are from Scabal's A/W 13-14 lookbook. Below, from Brooks Brothers' campaign of the same season. The type of look shown here demonstrates the rich potential of combining multiple shades of brown. As always, a pattern and a solid are a safe start, with muted plaids being an ideal way to work in other colours (here a pale lavender and a deep green, respectively). Beyond that you can pile on any combination of chocolate, mid-brown, tan or khaki and the result will likely be a highly sophisticated composition—something unlikely to be the case with just about any other colour.
