Coco Chanel famously advised women "before you leave the house, look in the mirror and remove one accessory." Guys are increasingly big on looking in the mirror but seem to lack Coco's skill at self-editing. In truth, of course, not all accessories are created equal—some have more visual weight, some get a pass based on context, and some are inherently more tryhard than others. You may need to remove more than one. Before you go out the door, add up your accessory points, check your score and adjust accordingly.
